A three-time All-American defensive end at the University of Nebraska, Wistrom helped lead the Cornhuskers to two national championships and earned the prestigious Lombardi Award in 1997. His college accolades include being named to the All-Big 12 team three times and winning the Bill Willis Trophy as the top defensive lineman in college football.

Wistrom’s success continued in the NFL, where he was a first-round draft pick by the St. Louis Rams in 1998. As a key player in the Rams’ defense, he contributed to the team’s victory in Super Bowl XXXIV.
