For Grant Wistrom, community isn't just a buzzword—it's home. Long before his standard-setting football career, Grant grew up in Southwest Missouri, graduating from Webb City High School in 1994. After his time on the national stage, he chose Springfield, Missouri as the place to put down roots, build local businesses, raise his family for 17 years, and coach football at Glendale High School alongside his daughter. With his parents and brother’s family still residing in the area, Grant’s deep ties to the region were formally recognized with his induction into both the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame (2009) and the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame (2023). When the opportunity arose to expand Champ Roofing & Exteriors into Missouri, choosing Springfield wasn't just a strategic decision—it was a natural homecoming.

Grant's relentless work ethic first made national headlines at the University of Nebraska. As a three-time All-American defensive end, he helped power the Cornhuskers to two national championships and earned the prestigious Lombardi Award in 1997. His collegiate legacy includes three All-Big 12 selections and winning the Bill Willis Trophy as the top college defensive lineman in the nation.

Selected in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams, Grant transitioned his dominant play to the pros. As a cornerstone of the Rams' defense, he helped secure victory in Super Bowl XXXIV, capping an elite career built on discipline and teamwork.

Off the field, Grant’s focus shifted to making a lasting impact through philanthropy and community service. Beyond hosting local charity events to support children with cancer and their families, his work with the Grant Wistrom Foundation reflects an enduring dedication to helping others when it matters most.
